What's All The Fuss About

So many today consider the option of opting out of society and going off the radar so to say. Well this blog will be my story of doing just that. A story of how we decided, where we went, why we did so, what happened since we left main stream and where do we hope to go.

Well the story has a motivation of being able to share this whole damn experience with you all. It is no good if we are all going to go forward and never give away any of the treasures found along the way. I had dreams of doing stuff when I was still a kid, and now having lived most of those dreams I seem to be back in my creative and exploring mind again. Day dreaming stuff is a responsible experience. I think it is a damn important part of being human. So I am writing this blog to find some solace that I am not alone in feeling free and experiencing stuff that makes me happy - most of the time.

My wife and I live in the beautiful hills of the Southern Drakensberg on ten hectares of land gifted to us five years ago (from above) as we acquired it at a ridiculous price. Part of the reason was that the place was well fallow for a few years and was going to take a serious effort of conservation and creation. Five years later this paradise green jewel we called Trinity Estate is coming into its own.

If I tell you that we live on the pulse artery of HIV/Aids in the world, it literally means just that. Our station on the map is on the route running East/West as the trade artery on the 30 latitude of Africa. This truck route runs between the port of Durban and the routes going west to our Cape. It is a living hell to be aware of the attrition rate caused by this disease - especially in our area.

It was a natural decision for us to decide that we would dedicate our small holding to the improvement of life quality of all the people we could assist. So we did the herb thing. Well, more than that. We did the indigenous herb thing and made the commitment. For five years we have been planting any and all indigenous herbs on the Estate as a library. From this we have become informed on application of herbs to wellness of being. Being inspired allowed us to start to teach.

Trinity Estate is our personal living experience of going back one hundred years where we can survive without modern society. Completely! Ok, not quite yet, but we have done an amazing job so far. The bits we need still to do will hopefully be discussed here. As for the stuff we have done, well let's say we feel reasonably comfortable to lock our gates for a no contact experience for at least six weeks. There is much too still achieve and we are gearing up to complete all this work in the next six months. Why?

What's all the fuss about? It does not take too much mental arithmetic to extrapolate world events to arrive at a bum answer. Yes - the freeways will be chocked with cars permanently soon. Our food quality leaves most uninitiated exposed to malnutrition in this country. Education lacks moral substance and dog seems to want to eat dog. Financial dreams will turn to nightmares because the bankers lied to you. Health seems to be a privilege of the wealthy these days if MSRA does not stop you from leaving hospital permanently.

It gets quite deep but that is for other blogs. This story is one of hope and Light as it is told with moral abundance and faith. I will attempt to bring our little effort to light here as an inspiration to You! Yes - to go and to do the same. Let us help ourselves!
